Madd (Lengthening)
مد عارض للسكون
A madd letter followed by a letter that is only silent because you stopped there, lengthened two, four or six counts.
When it applies
- madd letter + temporary sukun at a stop
How to pronounce it
Applies only when you pause. Pick two, four or six counts and stay consistent. If you continue without stopping, the madd reverts to its natural length.

Common mistakes
- Applying the long madd while continuing rather than stopping.
