Safeguarding

Children learn here, often alone in a room with a screen. These are the arrangements that exist because of that.

Lessons are one to one, and they are recorded

Every lesson with a student under eighteen is recorded. A parent or guardian may request the recording of any lesson. Recordings exist so that nothing that happens in a lesson is unobservable, which is the single most useful safeguard in online teaching.

A guardian can join any lesson, without notice

You do not need to arrange it in advance and you do not need a reason. A tutor who is uncomfortable being observed is not someone we would keep.

Tutors are checked before they teach a child

Tutors are background-checked before being assigned to any student under eighteen. Qualifications shown on a tutor’s page are verified before they are published — where a claim has not been verified, the page shows nothing rather than an unverified claim.

Contact stays on the platform

Tutors do not contact students privately. Scheduling, messages and lesson notes go through the academy, and a tutor asking a student for a personal contact details is a matter to report to us.

What we do not ask children for

  • Their address, school, or photograph
  • Their own phone number or email address
  • Anything about the household beyond scheduling

There is nowhere in our systems to record these, which is a stronger guarantee than a policy saying we would not.

Raising a concern

If anything about a lesson or a tutor concerns you, tell us on +923401417862. Concerns about a child’s safety are acted on the same day, and the tutor is suspended from teaching minors while the matter is looked into — before any conclusion is reached, not after.

If you believe a child is at immediate risk, contact your local emergency services first. Tell us afterwards.

In short

The questions this policy is asked most

Are lessons recorded?

Every lesson with a student under eighteen is recorded, and a parent or guardian may request the recording of any lesson. Recordings exist so that nothing that happens in a lesson is unobservable, which is the single most useful safeguard in online teaching.

Can a parent sit in on a lesson?

Yes, and without arranging it in advance or giving a reason. A tutor who is uncomfortable being observed is not someone we would keep.

Are tutors background-checked?

Tutors are background-checked before being assigned to any student under eighteen. Qualifications shown on a tutor’s page are verified before they are published; where a claim has not been verified, the page shows nothing rather than an unverified claim.

What information do you hold about my child?

Their first name and age, and what they can currently read. We do not ask for their address, school, photograph, their own phone number or email, or anything about the household beyond scheduling. There is nowhere in our systems to record those, which is a stronger guarantee than a policy saying we would not.

How do I raise a concern about a lesson or a tutor?

Tell us by phone. Concerns about a child’s safety are acted on the same day, and the tutor is suspended from teaching minors while the matter is looked into, before any conclusion is reached rather than after. If you believe a child is at immediate risk, contact your local emergency services first and tell us afterwards.

Still deciding? Ask us anything before you book.

Questions about any of this?

Ask before you book rather than after. A person reads every enquiry.

A real lesson with a tutor, not a sales call. No payment details.
