Quran classes for young children (ages 4–7)
Twenty minutes is the working limit at this age. A longer lesson does not teach more; it teaches the child that lessons are something to endure. Short and frequent beats long and weekly every time.
- Lesson length
- 20 minutes
- Lessons a week
- 3–5
- Age range
- 4–7
Where most students start
Usually no Arabic letters at all, and often no experience of a structured lesson. Reading ability in their first language may still be forming.
What is expected at home
A parent sits within earshot for the first few weeks, mainly so the child is settled and the device works. After that, five minutes of daily review at home matters more than anything that happens in the lesson.
What usually gets in the way
- Attention drifts after fifteen minutes
- Confusing letters that look alike
- Losing interest without visible progress
What they usually want
- Recognise and sound the Arabic letters
- Build a habit of daily practice
- Learn short surahs by listening

Surahs for Salah
A working set of short surahs to recite, memorised properly rather than half-learned.

Focused work on articulation points, for letters that never sound quite right.
