How it works
How online Quran classes work
Four steps, and the only one that costs anything is the fourth.
From enquiry to schedule
What happens, in order
Tell us about the student
Their age, what they can read now, and what you would like them to reach. Five short questions, and a box for anything that does not fit them.
We match a tutor
Male or female as you choose, in a language you choose, and — the part that matters most — available at hours you can actually make.
Take a free trial lesson
A full lesson, not a sales call. It ends with a written assessment of where the student is, which is yours whether or not you continue.
Agree a regular schedule
The same tutor, the same slots each week. You receive notes after lessons so you can see what was covered rather than guessing.
In practice
What a week actually looks like
What a lesson looks like
Over video, one to one. The tutor listens, corrects as the student reads, and sets a small amount to practise before the next lesson.
Lesson length follows the student
Twenty minutes for a young child, thirty for most children, forty-five for teenagers and adults. A longer lesson for a five-year-old does not teach more.
If you miss a week
Tell us in advance and the slot is rescheduled. Continuity matters more than any single lesson, which is also why there is no minimum term.
Teaching children
What is in place when the student is a child
This academy teaches children, so the arrangements are written down rather than implied.
- Lessons with under-18s are recordedThe recording exists so that a concern can be checked against what actually happened, rather than against two recollections.
- A guardian can join any lesson, without noticeNo arrangement to make and no permission to ask. A safeguard that has to be requested in advance is not much of a safeguard.
- Tutors are background-checked before teaching minorsRecorded per tutor and shown as its own badge on their profile, so you can see which tutors have been checked rather than assuming.
The full safeguarding policy is published, not summarised.

Try it before deciding
We do not ask for payment details to book a trial, and the written assessment at the end is yours whether or not you continue.

Before you book
Questions about how classes run
What actually happens in the trial lesson?
A real lesson with the tutor you would be assigned, ending in a written assessment of where the student is. It is not a sales call, and the assessment is yours whether or not you continue.
Do I need to pay or give card details to book it?
No. There is no payment field in the booking form and none is asked for afterwards. You decide about fees only once you have seen a lesson.
What software do we need?
A device with a camera and a stable connection. Lessons run over a standard video call link sent to you before the lesson; there is nothing to install or buy.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Tell your tutor and it is rearranged. Lessons are one to one, so the timetable moves with you rather than a class moving on without the student.
How is a tutor matched to us?
A person reads the request and picks the teacher, against the gender, language and hours you asked for. It is not an algorithm, which is why a family asking for a female teacher gets one.
If your question is not here, ask it. We would rather answer honestly now than have you find out after enrolling.
Four steps, and the third one is a lesson
No payment details to book it, and no obligation to continue afterwards.
A real lesson with a tutor, not a sales call. No payment details.
