Introduction to Qira’at for Older Learners
Introduction to Qira’at for older learners, taught one to one in 30-minute lessons, 1–3 lessons a week. How the recognised recitations differ and why they are all authentic.
Lesson length and why
Thirty minutes at a deliberate pace. Repetition is increased and new material introduced more gradually, which suits retention rather than accommodating any deficiency.
Where most students start
Often learned as a child decades ago and retained fragments. Eyesight and screen size are practical considerations more often than learning ability.
What is expected at home
None.
How long it takes
Introduction to Qira’at typically runs 20–52 weeks at 1–3 lessons a week. The range is wide because it moves with revision between lessons more than with anything that happens in them.
